Make it Extreme's vibratory tumbler

Our need for removing the rust as well as the finishing touch in various little pieces which we use in our constructions led us to our new construction with the number 0082. This is a construction which constitutes a pot that vibrates, in which there are hard rocks in various sizes ranging from 0,2mm to 15mm and the pieces that we want to clean from the rust.
While our construction vibrates, the pieces spin and move as a result the dust is removed. Initially, we cut an old, plastic filter from a pool and we shaped our pot. Next, we stabilised the pot on a metallic, circular flange of 40cm diameter. At the centre of the flange, we put a bearing. Then, we placed the flange on 6 springs, which are connected from their top surface with the flange and the pot attached to it and their bottom part is connected with another flange of the same size, which also has a bearing in its central point. Additionally, the final flange was welded on a metallic framework that we made by square tubes 20x20x2mm.
The central point of the flanges is connected with an axis, which has a 2,7mm cam engine on its top surface. Therefore, when the axis spins the upper-sided flange and the pot with the items placed in it for cleaning are moved horizontally on the springs.
Moreover, an electrical motor 1,25hp 4800rpm was attached to the axis with a belt regulating the volts that are provided to the motor and by a voltage regulator, we choose the spins that we give to the axis and to our pot.
In the end, we made an experimental effort putting various stones that we had collected and many rusty items and we activated our machine for two hours. The results were amazing. We couldn’t believe to our eyes as these items that we used were hard to be cleaned but they were totally clean a few hours later. The ‘Vibratory tumbler’ that we made is big enough as its pot can fit 100lt. We believe that using special stones and functioning it more, we will have even better results.
