Making a rivet nuts tool



There are many times that we need to screw two thin objects together and we are unable to make a fold due to their thin width. The solution to this problem is given by the rivet nuts that is an already made fold and when it is pressed, it remains still in the hole that is located. There are lots of tools for the placement of rivet nuts especially manual ones.

Our construction numbered 0101 can be used manually or be placed in drills. The philosophy of this tool is very simple. Firstly, we put a screw at the lathe that has the shape of a hexagon at the back side in order to be able to be placed at the tools. Rotating the screw with the help of two thrust bearings, the screw spins without moving as a result the nut moves as well that is located on the screw.

This system is placed in the tube that we made on the lathe of 52mm width. On the nut, there is a keyway in which there are two stable screws which are attached to the cylinder. Therefore, when the screw spins with the hexagon part, the nut is not able to be spun so it is dragged into the cylinder forward and backward accordingly whether we are screwing or unscrewing. In front of the nut, there is a spot where the proper adaptor enters according to the size of the rivet nuts we enter.

In our case, we made an adaptor to be able to place the rivet nuts of m4, m5, m6, m8, m10 and m12. Although, our tool is very convenient in use, we believe that if we used a hydraulic tool, it would be better.

Making a monotrack bike


Starting this project, numbered 0100, we knew that it had to be something special in order to thank our viewers for their loyalty. Having this thought in our head, we, therefore, decided to make a motorized vehicle. We called it ‘monotrack bike’ as it has only one crawler that it uses it to move. To make this crawler, we took a car tyre, from which we removed its two sides to make it softer and easier to take the shape that we want. Then, using an aluminium, diving bottle, we made the rims, which transmits the motion of the machine to the crawler.

Firstly, we used a machine by a 100cc 2 stroke scooter. The crawler takes its shape and spins in 5 additional metallic rollers that we created and are made of a metallic tube 80mm wide. Three of the five rollers are located at the frontal part of the bike and are connected to the machine with a variable connection so that the crawler will be able to be set along it. In this way, we can control its stretching. The other two rollers are located at the back side of the crawler and through a scissor are connected with the frontal part of the bike, where the three metallic rollers are. The scissor is supported by three springs which help the absorption of the noise of vibration. 

This construction functions similarly like the monowheel that we created in another video. However, instead of being inside the wheel, you are sat on an elastic crawler.

Summing up, while getting into the process to start this particular project, we knew that despite the constructional functions, there would also be problems turning the wheel during its driving. However, the vehicle was moving with great facility even better than we expected. It also gives us a very pleasant feeling during its driving as the driver feels like he drives a motorbike on one wheel. Finally, we are very glad that such a unique construction is included in our collection.
