In this video we are presenting the making of an electric machine, called ‘vulcanizer’. This machine is used to repair punctures, weld two tires and in other tasks.
This machine is useful to us for making tires that we can’t find in the market and they need to be custom-made. For example, we needed such a machine to make a tire for the monowheel.
The welding is done by exerting pressure and heat on the surfaces that we want to weld. To achieve the temperature we need, we made two aluminum dies and we put elements taken from coffee machines in them. Also, to set the right temperature we placed thermostats at 160°c.
Finally, for exerting pressure on the tires, we put an air piston of 63mm. On the machine, we could place a timer switch and adjustable thermostats for a better performance of our machine. Although the construction with the number 0114 is ready and we are going to see it work in the following videos, very soon!
