More info on the project
On the 5th episode of our construction with the title “Transform the most hated electric car into a supercar”, our aim is the placement of the motor.
We have chosen a motor from kawasaki ZX-6R 636 engine of 2004. This motor can perform from 125hp up to 16000rpm. The most challenging part of this episode was to transmit the motion from the motor to the car’s differential.
Firstly, we made an axis that on its one side was connected with the differential and on its other side we placed a gear. The gear was later connected with the gear of the engine as a result we solved the problem of the transmission of the motion.
Regarding the placement of the engine, we removed some pieces from the car’s floor as the available space was limited. After making the basis of the motor and stabilising it, we carried on placing the rest parts that make it functional. Then, we stabilised the fuel box, the electric installment, the shift lever, the radiator and other parts.
The radiator was placed at the frontal part so it could be hit by the air thus we needed to lengthen the tyres which are connected with the engine. We also put the monitor screens indicating the motor in a place where the driver is able to see it.
Furthermore, we placed a system which allows the motor to set off only by identifying the fingerprint of a registered user.
Finally, we tried the vehicle on one of our creations that we made for this purpose in the shop. To sum up, we are really satisfied and we are looking forward for the final trial.
