More info on the project

After three episodes detailing the construction process of the drifting bumper car, the moment of driving has arrived. At Make It Extreme, driving isn’t just about fun; it’s also a process through which we draw conclusions to improve future builds.

In this project, we initially installed plastic sleeves on the rear wheels, similar to what’s done on drift trikes. However, the vehicle’s road behavior wasn’t optimal because, unlike typical drift trikes, this vehicle has considerable front weight. With the plastic sleeves around the wheels, the car struggled to move forward. Surprisingly, without the plastic, its behavior was excellent. This bumper car is highly entertaining as it allows for easy drifting while also gaining speed.

We were also amazed by the build’s durability, both in terms of driving abuse and collision resistance. Even in extremely violent crashes, there was no damage to the driver or the vehicle. If we were to build it again, we might consider using a larger engine.

This project provided us with a delightful construction journey and enjoyable moments during its operation.
